I provide SAT Prep for both the verbal and the math portions of the test. Students can choose to focus on one, or both topics. My offerings include
- Verbal and Math Tutoring (one-on-one)
- Summer Book Groups
- Small Group Verbal and Math Classes (max 6 students)
Students work extensively with the 8 practice tests (these are 8 – 3 hour tests divided into 4 parts) that are available in the College Board’s The Official SAT Study Guide. Mastering the material in these practice tests is considered the foundation of what students need to learn in order to score well on the SATs.
My Verbal offerings focus on helping students improve their vocabulary, their reading and writing skills, and their ability to understand and analyze what they have read, so that they can improve their fundamental verbal skills and perform better on the test.
My Math offerings help students remember, tie together, and connect mathematical concepts that were taught in bits and pieces over a period of two to three years, so that they can improve their foundational math skills and improve their scores on the test.
SAT Prep is better thought of as a 100 mile trail run, rather than a 50 meter sprint. It is a good idea to start prepping well in advance. Dates for upcoming SATs are as follows:
- May 4th
- June 1st
- August 24th
- October 5th
- November 2nd
- December 7th
2020 (currently published)
- March 14th
- May 2nd
- June 6th
